After returning from my study abroad time in China, I felt — for the very first time — my state was beautiful. Even the never ending pine trees, towering over me, were a blessing. The dirty waves rolling along the coast line, the love bugs swarming around the house, the sheer ignorance of everybody around me, everything, literally everything was perfect in the next twenty-four hours.

After this, quitting my school’s Chinese Flagship program seemed like a no-brainer.  And it’s been difficult. Eventually I wrote a strongly worded email to all of the the advisors. Still working everything out, but I’m hoping my life will be better now. I have no doubt it will. There’s nothing like seeing the beauty in things because you’ve been somewhere so incomprehensibly worse in every single way.

Now, I’m a Hospitality Management major. Singular major. I’m so utterly pleased it’s hard to think about it too much.
